Web - a traditional computer game
A game by
Jeroen Doumen and Joris Wiersinga
At the headoffice of Splotter-4-all computer services the phones just won't stop ringing: complaints galore! Everyone wants internet. Where are the connections? Web is a game in which the players attempt to connect as many computers as possible. More than anyone else, at least. If that isn't possible by connecting more computers yourself, there are other means. Stealing computers from your neighbours, dumping uninteresting contracts on them... Web is a traditional computer game: although it is about computers, it is really a card game. A perfect present for friends who spend to much time at their computers. By laying cards on the table, a grid of computers and modems develops. These are connected to each other by means of wooden "cables". Whoever connects a computer first, scores points! Winning this game requires concentration, puzzling and a bit of luck. The trial edition contains 61 laying cards in several shapes, 72 small coloured wooden rods and game rules in three languages (Dutch, German, English). All trial copies that were available for sale have been sold. Considering the reactions, we believe that we could publish Web in a bigger quantity. However, for the time being, we decided to prefer other projects.
